The 8X2" Mounting plate is equipped with one C size RAM ball. A nylon Pad Eye is mounted to provide anchor point in combination with the thumb nut for anchor cables supplied with RAM Tube Holders. The Pad Eye can be mounted on either side of the mount using predrilled holes and must be removed if a Yakdog bracket is fitted to the mount. The kit is equipped with two thumb nuts and rail mount bolts compatible with various track systems. Stainless steel mounting hardware is used throughout to mount all the accessories. Stoppers are supplied for a Yakdog Bracket at one end to ensure the brackets will not turn out of position during use. The mounting plate is made of durable high-density polyethylene.
Application:
This mount is ideally mounted on the front rail of a kayak for trolling. Yakdog can supply modified tube style RAM rod holders as accessories. This rod holder style is best for Kayak ideal for kayak fishing as the rod butt is in the holder and cannot interfere with our knees, legs or feet. It provides easy access to the rod in use. When fishing in creeks or rivers with overhanging trees the rod holders can be adjusted to be almost horizontal with the kayak, keeping the rod tips low and out away from tree branches. The fishing reels are high and away from the water and the tube can be adjusted in any direction. When trolling you can easily look at the rod in front of you and see when a fish hits the lure. This mount is ideally suited to store and transport up to two Fly Rods if mounted in rear of the kayak. The mount is very flexible can be equipped with 1 Yakdog Bracket. The Brackets types include B size RAM Ball for camera poles or cell phones, C Size RAM Ball for rod holder and the Yakdog Anchor Pole bracket. The mount can be equipped with any of the brackets and can carry up to 2 rod holders.
