The 12x2" 2C1 Yakdog Rail Mount is optimized for rear-rail installation. While primarily designed for high-capacity rod stowage, it is an extremely versatile foundation for your kayak rigging.
· 4-Rod Setup: A single rear-mounted plate can conveniently store up to four fishing rods in RAM® Tube™ holders when equipped with two 2C1 Yakdog Brackets.
· 8-Rod Setup: For the serious angler, gear readiness is everything. Utilizing two 2C2 mounts with four C1 Brackets allows for a dedicated eight-rod storage system. This setup provides the rapid-fire flexibility needed for competitive bass fishing while offering essential redundancy for river and marsh environments. Don’t let a snag or a break-off take you out of the game; with a backup rod ready to go, you can skip the mid-bite re-tie and keep casting during that critical feeding window.
The mount easily adapts to support more than just rods. By utilizing different Yakdog Brackets, you can expand your kayak’s capabilities:
· Video Capture: Mount a camera pole just behind and above your head for simple, hands-free shooting of your fishing trips.
· Shallow Water Anchor Pole Transport: Secure a shallow-water anchor pole by adding a Yakdog Anchor Pole Transport Bracket.
Note: Adding a camera or anchor pole bracket will reduce total rod stowage by two.
The 2C1 mount allows you to adapt your kayak rigging configuration to the specific fishing you plan to do each day:
· River and Dock Fishing: Reduce your gear to four rods and adjust the RAM® Tube™ holders to a lower angle. This keeps your rod tips down to safely pass under low-hanging tree branches or docks.
· Hybrid Rigging: Easily mix conventional and fly rods on the same mount to suit freshwater or saltwater fishing outings.
· Trolling: The 2C2 Yakdog Rail Mount can be used for trolling and rod stowage at the same time.

The Yakdog mounting plate and bracket system ensure you can take advantage of the flexibility of the RAM Ball and Rod Holder system and protects the RAM ball form unwanted movement, deformation and wear caused by overtightening.
Rail-Safe "No-Deformation" Mounting
Unlike standard mounts that concentrate pressure on a single point, our plates utilize dual fixing points separated by 10 inches or more.
The Advantage: This wide footprint maximizes the gripping surface area, allowing the plate to lock firmly in place with finger-tightening only of the thumb nuts.
Rail Protection: By eliminating the need for heavy tools or over-tightening, you prevent the rail deformation that commonly jams track systems. Your rails remain smooth, ensuring effortless forward and backward adjustments for years to come.
Integrated Pad Eye Anchoring Point
· Streamlined Security: The integrated Nylon Pad Eye acts as a central hub for equipment lanyards.
· Fail-Safe Trolling: For RAM® Tube™ holders, simply pass the anchor cable through the Pad Eye and over the Yakdog Thumb Nut and bolt. This creates a rock-solid anchor point. We’ve designed a smarter way to anchor not relying on expensive or corrosive metal clips.
· Flexibility: The mounting plate features pre-drilled holes, allowing you to easily reposition the Eye Pad to either the left or right side. For the best ergonomics, we recommend matching the Eye Pad position to the side of the kayak where the plate is installed - left (Port) or right (Starboard).
Anti-Rotation Stoppers
· Rod stability is key when a fish strikes. Our built-in Stoppers act as physical barriers for the RAM® Ball and Yakdog brackets, preventing unwanted rotation under load. Your accessories stay exactly where you set them, even in high-torque trolling scenarios.

· Dual-Function Design: Beyond securing the plate, these nuts serve as the primary anchor point for your Rod Tube cables. The design eliminates the need for expensive clips that can corrode over time.
· Tool-Free Tightening: Ergonomically shaped to provide adequate leverage, allowing for a "rail-safe" grip using only your fingers.
· The stainless-steel Rail Mounting Bolts are made inhouse and sized to support the addition of Yakdog brackets to the mounting plates.
